The current management contract would have expired Jan. 31 but is now extended an additional six months. Under the new contract, the CEO and CFO would transition from employees of QHR to employees of the city for “accountability reasons,” according to the report.
However, CEO Shawn Morrow and CFO Garth Hamblin’s contracts with QHR include a non-compete clause that may force them to wait a year before becoming city employees. Although QHR declined to waive the clause, a Bartlett Regional official said interim agreements could be established for both leaders.
