Albemarle Health in North Carolina to Lay Off 39 Employees

Albemarle Health in Elizabeth City, N.C., is laying off 39 employees as part of a plan to reduce expenses by up to $4 million over the next six months, according to an Outer Banks Voice report.

The system is also leaving 45 positions vacant and reducing executives’ salaries, according to the report.

Albemarle Health includes Albermarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, Regional Medical Center in Kitty Hawk, N.C., and physicians’ offices in Manteo, N.C.
