The Gaithersburg, Md.-based health system’s Eastern Shore mental health facility is expected to make the cuts by the end of next month as it closes and temporarily delicenses its 59 residential treatment center beds and 15 acute care beds, Executive Director Ismael Gama said in the article.

According to WBOC, Mr. Gama said the decision to close the facility was made after careful consideration.

“Adventist Healthcare made the decision to temporary delicense the services here at this facility in Cambridge. That way we can better evaluate our partnership with [Salisbury, Md.-based] PRMC [Peninsula Regional Medical Center] as we look into providing services in the Eastern Shore Region,” he said.

Mr. Gama said children receiving services at the behavioral health and wellness services location in Cambridge will be relocated to other facilities, according to WBOC.
