The drop in funding is driven in part by decreased state funding as well as decreasing revenues and increasing expenses, said Ricardo Azziz, MD, chairman of the board that oversee MCGHeath.
Dr. Azziz said labor expenses will be examined, which could result in layoffs, but added, “We also understand our responsibility to the community to make sure that it is minimized to the extent possible,” according to the report.
