2. The Ventura County Health Care Agency, a California-based system of hospital, clinic and specialty services, lowered its layoff estimate from 79 to 59.
3. Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy health system is cutting jobs in a restructuring move.
4. Christus Southeast Texas Health System, based in Beaumont, will close Port Arthur, Texas-based St. Mary Hospital, affecting 150 jobs.
