Focusing on learning activities had been shown to lessen negative emotions associated with stress. Here are three ways leaders can use learning to help them stress less.
1. Start internally. Reframe stressful work challenges as learning opportunities, with an eye toward growth and long-term gains.
2. Work and learn with others. Getting input from others can help reveal previously unconsidered viewpoints.
3. Craft learning activities as a new kind of work break. If leaders approach learning activities as a replenishing break from work, their breaks will not only help recharge their batteries but improve their problem-solving abilities.
