If Congress does not pass an emergency funding bill before the end of the week, the government will shut down on Saturday. The $2.85 billion will fund state CHIP programs through March. The bill also allots $550 million for community health centers.

The legislation partially funds these programs by redirecting $750 million from ACA’s public health and prevention fund, which House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Democrats plan to challenge at a House Rules Committee meeting later Thursday.
