Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H., has announced more than 100 layoffs, according to a Boston Globe report.
The 101 layoffs are in response to recent cuts to the state’s Medicaid program. CMC officials say changes to Medicaid payments means the hospital must pay the state $12 million by October, according to the report. CMC is one of 10 hospitals suing New Hampshire in federal court over the Medicaid cuts, which went into effect July 1. The budget cuts total $115 million over two years.
