The proton therapy system will be the 12th in the United States and the first that is smaller than a football field. At $40 million, the system is a fraction of the standard $200 million price tag for construction of a typical proton therapy treatment center.
The system will require an extension to the Willis Knighton facilities that will also include clinic space for radiation, patient-support services and surgical oncology.
