Libertyville, Ill.-based Advocate Condell Medical Center will break ground in October on $10 million radiation oncology and cancer center expansions, according to a report from the Mundelein Review.
The 6,000-square-foot cancer center is set to open in December 2013 and will include genetic counseling, space for family-physician meetings, dietary services and host fittings for wigs and prosthetics.
The radiation oncology department will open in late 2015 and will feature private exam rooms, a larger waiting area and a linear accelerator. The linear accelerator will be ready for patients spring 2014, although the entire department will not yet be open.
The expansion comes is part of a three-year update plan for the cancer, orthopedic, spine and heart and vascular institutes at Condell, according to the report.
