HCA Healthcare's LewisGale Montgomery Hospital has appointed Tim Layman, DNP, MSN, RN, chief nursing officer, effective July 10.

The CDC has confirmed a third death in a fungal meningitis outbreak linked to two surgery clinics in a Mexico border city. 

Oneida (N.Y.) Health CFO Jeremiah Sweet will serve as interim CEO and president effective June 1.

Hospital Sisters Health System has named Chris Klay president and CEO of HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Ill., the health system said June 2. He succeeds John Ludwig, who is stepping down due to his health. 

This year has been big for hospital CEO exits. Departures hit a four-year high in January and  climbed 72 percent in the first four months of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. 

LSU Health Shreveport (La.) has named Viola Sprague as its new CIO, effective June 5. 

South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Miss., has named Gregg Gibbes president and CEO, The Laurel Leader Call reported June 1. 

Kittanning. Pa.-based ACMH Hospital has named Nichole Geraci president and CEO, The Leader-Vindicator reported June 1. 

Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare named Heather Dixon CFO, effective July 10. 

Marcus Jackson was named COO of Medical City Las Colinas in Irving, Texas, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
