Jonathan Bates, MD, president and CEO of Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, has announced plans to retire at the end of June 2013.

Greg Seiler has served as CEO of Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, since October 2012.

Jack Ivie has been named president of Glendale (Calif.) Memorial Hospital and Health Center, according to a San Fernando Valley Business Journal report.

Sister Sheila Lyne, RSM, has announced plans to retire as president and CEO of Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago.

George Halvorson has served as chairman and CEO of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, the nation's largest health plan and hospital system, since 2002. Thirty-seven hospitals were part of Kaiser's system as of Dec. 31, 2011.

Norman F. Stephens recently assumed his roles as CEO of St. Luke's Hospital at The Vintage in Houston and vice president of St. Luke's Episcopal Health System.

Fred Kolb, CEO of Madison County Hospital in London, Ohio, will retire on Dec. 28, according to a report by The Madison Press.

Santa Clara Valley Health & Hospital System in San Jose, Calif., has hired Jeffrey Arnold, MD, as CMO, effective Dec. 24, according to a Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal report.

Lovelace Westside Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M., has named Farron Sneed, FACHE, as CEO.
