The EHR system allows healthcare providers to more easily access and share patient health information, reduces medical errors and duplicative tests and handles practice management processes. In addition to the new system, the medical center has launched UCSF MyChart, a patient portal that allows patients to communicate with hospital physicians and staff, view lab results and make appointments.
