Experts in care delivery, informatics, quality and implementation science, among others, will collaborate in the Applied Decision Science Lab to find ways to solve problems in the industry, paying particular attention to clinical variation, provider workflows and clinical decision-making.
“The ADSL is focused on how to make decision support technology easily used by clinicians,” Jennifer Wiler, MD, founder and director of UCHealth CARE Innovation Center, said in a press release. “Our lab’s ability to quickly iterate and test these workflows and see if they actually improve clinician adoption of these standards is unique. We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with industry to realize the promise of these technologies.”
The lab has already worked with a Silicon Valley startup LeanTaaS to improve operating room efficiencies using predictive analytics. It also has a partnership with RxRevu, a digital health company that provides medication information to providers within the EHR.
