The academic health system plans to fully deploy cloud-based solutions for all its data storage within three years. It says a cloud-hosted environment is less expensive, enables timely cybersecurity updates and permits easier disaster recovery.

The health systems’ information services team has already moved 10,000 workstations and integrated over 100 third-party applications that work with Epic to the cloud platform.
