A total of 21,202 physicians across 25 specialties responded to the survey conducted by Medscape from May 30 to June 15, 2012.
The physicians were asked to rank their EHRs on a scale of one (lowest) to five (highest) for 12 factors, including overall ease of use, reliability, interactivity with other office systems, value for money and overall usefulness of the end product. The 10 best-ranked EHRs and their overall scores, according to the report, are:

2. Practice Fusion — 4.04
3. VA-CPRS — 3.89
4. Medent — 3.65
5. e-MDs — 3.56
6. Epic — 3.51
7. athenahealth — 3.44
8. eClinicalWorks — 3.36
9. Sage — 3.22
10. Centricity — 3.20
