The Tiger Institute Health Alliance HIE includes MU Health Care and Jefferson City, Mo.-based Capital Region Medical Center, among other hospitals, clinics and post-acute care providers in the state. The Sequoia Project eHealth Exchange comprises 65 percent of hospitals and roughly 50,000 medical groups nationwide, including Missouri-based organizations like SSM Health in St. Louis, according to its website.

Tiger Institute Health Alliance HIE and the Sequoia Project eHealth Exchange share a mission of enabling physicians at different organizations to exchange up-to-date medical records with one another to improve patient care, according to MU Health Care officials.

“As clinicians, we see patients from rural and urban areas across our state,” said Thomas Selva, MD, chief medical information officer at MU Health Care and division director of general pediatrics at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. “This helps us provide the most appropriate, safe and streamlined care for these patients.”
