This British physician could make millions as insurers look to purchase his startup

Dr. Bayju Thakar formed London-based Doctor Care Anywhere, telehealth startup, four years ago. Now he’s receiving approaches from insurance companies in the U.K. as they find ways to care for the country’s aging population, according to The Telegraph.

As Doctor Care Anywhere considers a £100 million-plus ($124 million) sale to England’s insurance firms, it has hired two advisory organizations — DC Advisory and Icon — to facilitate its options.

Through Doctor Care Anywhere, patients can directly access general practitioners online and in person through a partnership with Epsom, England-based Nuffield Health, a nonprofit organization. The startup currently has more than 100,000 members.
