The teleneurology partnership aims to support Mon Health physicians by virtually connecting them with WVU neurologists for assistance when providing patient consultations. The telemedicine services are available at three of Mon Health’s West Virginia-based hospitals: Mon Health Medical Center, Kingwood-based Preston Memorial Hospital and Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston.
“[The program] involves all facets of teleneurology. We will have response for urgent conditions, the classic being stroke, with very rapid response time for the video consultation for any patients that arrive at a Mon Health facility with stroke,” said Gregory Nelcamp, MD, Mon Health System’s senior vice president of clinical affairs, according to the report.
The partnership also extends to cover care for non-urgent neurological conditions, Dr. Nelcamp added.
