The organization said it will immediately begin a search to fill the CEO position. Officials said ATA COO Sabrina Smith, DHA, will serve as interim CEO.
Dr. Smith joined ATA as COO in January. She holds a Doctorate of Health Administration from Charleston-based Medical University of South Carolina. She also holds a Master of Health Administration and a Bachelor of Economics from Denver-based University of Colorado.
“The Board is pleased that Sabrina has agreed to serve in the role of interim CEO to help us through this transitional period,” said Peter Yellowlees, MD, board president of ATA. “We thank Jon for his many years of service and his significant contributions to ATA and the industry he helped create.”
