Patients use their smartphone, tablet or computer to access the clinic, which is open 24/7. By accessing it, they can receive a diagnosis and treatment for various ailments, including the common cold, sinus issues, urinary tract infections and pink eye. The clinicians staffing the clinic will refer patients to a physical hospital if their condition is more complex.
No matter whether a patient has insurance, each visit costs $49.
Saint Thomas Health set up the virtual clinic with the help of Carena, a Seattle-based telemedicine provider.
