Per the partnership, Riverside and Index AR Solutions will create patient safety- and workflow-focused apps. The first app under development is a tablet that leverages augmented reality and other visual technologies to help medical technicians visualize and learn the proper step-by-step process for cleaning a popular type of endoscope.

The app will also include safety warnings, 3D animations, short videos and written instructions. Users can log their activity, making it easier to ensure that all steps in the manual cleaning process are performed.

The app is Index AR’s first foray into the healthcare space.
