Practice Fusion Raises $70M in Capital

Web-based electronic medical record system vendor Practice Fusion has raised $70 million in venture capital, according to a report in the Financial Times.

Practice Fusion, which offers its EMR for free, has previously made money through advertisements. The company is now aggregating the data of the 75 million patients with records currently in a Practice Fusion system to package and sell reports on data insights to pharmaceutical companies and insurers, supported by the recently raised funds, according to the report.
