The Advanced Medicine Oncology Centre will be based at Biopolis, an international biomedical research hub in Singapore. Philips and SAM will also collaborate with medical device and software manufacturers Varian Medical Systems and IBA Worldwide to open the center.

The oncology center will bring together imaging and clinical informatics technologies from the four organizations to develop diagnosis and treatment solutions for healthcare professionals and researchers. Its goal is to “provide earlier detection and first-time-right diagnosis of cancer as well as safer, more cost effective treatment,” said Dr. Djeng Shih Kien, founder and chairman of SAM.

The Advanced Medicine Oncology Centre will open in stages, beginning in 2018.
