The agreement is valued at $30 million, of which the majority of funding is coming from Health Catalyst, according to a Boston Business Journal report. As part of the agreement, Partners will contract more consulting services from Health Catalyst (the two organizations already work together), and Health Catalyst will create the Partners HealthCare Center for Population Health employees from both organizations will receive training in care management and population health best practices.

“The formation of the Center for Population Health is deeply consistent with our shared experience that transforming healthcare requires more than great software — you must combine technology with exceptional people with the experience and know-how to improve outcomes,” said Dan Burton, CEO of Health Catalyst.

Additionally, Health Catalyst is licensing technology, content and analytics innovations that Partners HealthCare helped develop. Health Catalyst plans to commercialize such innovations.

The partnership also includes Partners signing an enterprisewide technology subscription agreement, so the provider has access to Health Catalyst’s full suite of technology solutions. Partners is also increasing its equity ownership stake in Health Catalyst.
