One in 10 health IT professionals seek more challenging, interesting work, survey finds

While optimism about the health IT job market has increased, one in 10 health IT professionals are leaving their positions in search of more challenging, interesting work, according to the latest study from staffing agency Greythorn.

In the survey, 84 percent of respondents said they were optimistic or extremely optimistic about health IT opportunities in the next 12 months, and 82 percent said they were satisfied or highly satisfied with their current role.

However, 11 percent of respondents said they left a previous role because they wanted more challenging and interesting work. This percentage is up from 3 percent who indicated wanting more challenging and interesting work last year.

Additionally, of the 16 percent of respondents who said they were dissatisfied with their work, 23 percent said culture was the reason for dissatisfaction, followed by career progression (20 percent), manager/supervisor (13 percent), challenge (12 percent) and salary (12 percent).

Nearly 20 percent of respondents said the challenge of their jobs is the main reason they are inspired in their current role.
