New York community hospital receives $5.7M state grant to implement Epic EMR

The New York Health Care Transformation Program awarded Wellsville, N.Y.-based Jones Memorial Hospital, a University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center affiliate, $5.7 million to fund its multi-year Epic EMR implementation project, according to Wellsville Daily Reporter.

The new system will integrate the hospital's system into the UR Medicine EMR to streamline information exchange between JMH and other Rochester partners. The Epic EMR will replace Meditech and LSS, two EMRs which have been in use at JMH since 1999.

To roll out the Epic EMR, an IT work group comprised of representatives from all regional partners will develop a multi-year project plan to build and implement the system.

The grant is part of the governor's $18.7 million commitment to support efforts to modernize the Finger Lakes Region's healthcare system.
