CLiX ENRICH was designed to streamline the patient prescreening process at Mount Sinai by analyzing progress notes and reports in electronic health records and flagging patients who match a trial’s criteria.
Already, a multidisciplinary team of investigators from The Samuel F. Bronfman Department of Medicine, The Charles Bronfman Institute of Personalized Medicine and the Division of Nephrology at The Mount Sinai Hospital used CLiX ENRICH for an ongoing diabetic nephropathy trial.
“Using CLiX ENRICH, we did in a week what would have previously taken four months, so this could represent a paradigm shift in the way clinical trials are carried out for both common as well as rare diseases,” said clinical instructor at Mount Sinai Girish N. Nadkarni, MD.
According to Chris Tackaberry, CEO of Clinithink, the tool can be useful for organizations that are having an increasingly difficult time recruiting patients for clinical trials.
