Of the EHRs included in the study, the researchers found one-third fail to meet the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT’s certification requirement for user-centered design process, according to the report.
Of the vendors, 17 percent involved no physicians in usability tests for platforms intended for physician use. Additionally, more than 63 percent of vendors did not enroll at least 15 users in EHR usability tests, according to the report.
