M*Modal offers speech recognition app to athenahealth customers

M*Model has partnered with athenahealth’s More Disruption Please program to offer its mobile speech recognition solutions to athenahealth’s more than 52,000 providers.

The two apps, M*Modal Fluency Direct and M*Modal Fluency Flex Mobile, use speech recognition technology that’s able to integrate with electronic health records to speed the dictation process.

“M*Modal’s partnership with athenahealth brings tremendous value to healthcare providers looking to elevate the quality of clinical documentation and increase physician productivity,” said Matt Jenkins, senior vice president of marketing and corporate development at M*Modal, in a news release. “Our solutions make capturing high-quality patient narratives and managing workflows simple and effective, giving physicians more time and better clinical data for delivering improved care.”

M*Modal recently emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, though the company’s operations were uninterrupted during the financial restructuring period.
