The hospital discovered that an error had occurred in one computer data entry field, which caused the personal health information of certain patients to be sent to other patients’ email addresses.
The information included names and treatment information, but did not include Social Security numbers or financial account numbers.
LSU Health Shreveport said it has identified the computer problem and taken steps to rectify it.
