The company’s new “cuff-to-cloud” experience will use Amazon Lex and Amazon Polly technologies to deliver real-time voice readings to patients when they check their blood pressure. For example, users may hear the system suggest changes to their nutrition to help lower sodium intake.
Amazon Lex is a deep learning chatbot service that enables users to build conversational interfaces into an application, and Amazon Polly is designed to turn text into lifelike speech, allowing users to create applications that talk.
With the new tool, Livongo Health aims to reach more people who prefer voice as their primary communication channel, Livongo President Jennifer Schneider, MD, said in a news release.
