When asked how the failure to repeal and replace the ACA affects healthcare business, Mr. Bush said although the American Health Care Act was a missed opportunity to make healthcare more competitive, he is not disappointed.
“In general, if you’re in business, great huge shocks from the political system are always a distraction,” he said. “Even if they’re good shocks or bad shocks. Anything that stays still for us to do our work is good.”
Mr. Bush went on to argue that the ideal healthcare system is a free market in which “the market goes down to where [the uninsured] are, and there’s products that they can afford, that they like, that they buy.”
