Health systems continue to partner with Big Tech on artificial intelligence and virtual reality projects.
Here are six collaborations Becker’s reported on in the past month:
1. Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Hospital has added the first FDA-cleared, mixed-reality navigation system for total hip replacements that can be used with Microsoft HoloLens 2 mixed-reality glasses, South Florida Hospital News reported June 25.
2. A study at Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center that begins in July aims to determine the usability of connecting Medtronic’s GI Genius endoscopy module with Apple Vision Pro, according to a June 24 Cosmo Pharmaceuticals news release.
3. Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital said June 23 it incorporated Microsoft’s ambient listening technology for nurses into the Epic Rover mobile nursing application to increase productivity and job satisfaction.
4. Amazon One Medical and Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health continue to open clinics across New Jersey to expand access to primary care, with plans for 20 or more, NJBiz reported June 17.
5. Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health is switching to Apple devices across the 27-hospital system, Becker’s reported June 13.
6. West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health is working with Microsoft’s Nuance to develop ambient AI for nurses, Becker’s reported June 13.
