Emory, Stanford, Mercy: 6 Big Tech partnerships

Health systems continue to collaborate with Big Tech on AI and digital innovation projects.

Here are six partnerships Becker’s reported on in the past month:

1. Lithonia, Ga.-based Emory Hillandale Hospital became the first U.S.-based hospital fully powered by Apple products, Becker’s reported May 22.

2. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Health Care is testing a new tool from Microsoft designed to ease the burden of preparing complex cancer cases for tumor board meetings, the tech company said May 19.

3. Galveston-based University of Texas Medical Branch inked a five-year deal with Microsoft to take advantage of the company’s AI and cloud computing capabilities, the health system’s CIO told Becker’s for a May 13 story.

4. Microsoft is partnering with health systems across the country on AI and data projects, including Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke’s University Health Network, Renton, Wash.-based Providence and Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine, the tech giant said May 7.

5. Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy, which operates more than 50 hospitals, is leveraging its partnerships to create a unified dataset on provider-level data enhanced by its collaboration with Microsoft, Becker’s reported May 6.

6. The Apple Vision Pro and eXeX surgical mapping software launched commercially at Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Hospital, the hospital said April 28.
