The task force comprises representatives from the Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security, the Idaho State Police, the Tax Commission and other organizations. The group will be responsible for developing programs, strategies and policies to detect areas of vulnerability and prevent cyber attacks. They will also be charged with promoting a culture of cybersecurity awareness.
“Idaho’s thriving business community, along with state agencies that provide essential services, face real threats posed by cyber criminals around the world,” Governor Otter said in a statement. “This task force will work on strengthening our defenses to proactively protect data and infrastructure.”
