Here are eight statistics on how consumers in U.S. broadband households used mHealth in the past year, according to a report from Parks Associates, a market research and consulting firm.

1. Thirty-eight percent of consumers looked up health information online.

2. Twenty-seven percent of consumers used their provider’s or insurer’s website.

3. Twenty-six percent of consumers made appointments, checked lab results or managed prescriptions online.

4. One-quarter of consumers reported using a health app.

5. Twenty-two percent of consumers used a device to track health patterns.

6. Twenty-two percent of consumers electronically stored health information.

7. One in five consumers electronically communicated with healthcare providers or health insurance professionals.

8. Thirteen percent of consumers participated in an online support group.
