The report analyzed 27 apps not included in HIMSS’ EMR Adoption Model but commonly used at hospitals and health systems throughout the country. The three apps determined to be poised for the most growth are all in-line with the goals of healthcare reform and will help providers be successful in a changing healthcare landscape, said Lorren Pettit, vice president of market research at HIMSS Analytics, in a news release.
“As the healthcare IT industry shifts its focus to technology that empowers clinical efficacy and preventive care, it is not surprising that first-time sales outlook for these three applications is so positive,” he said. “The findings suggest that opportunities for lab and nursing application vendors are ripe in this maturing market.”
