The center, based in the Academy’s Alexandria, Va., headquarters, will work with health systems to identify challenges in health IT adoption, conduct pilot projects with new technologies and publish results. The Health Management Academy partnered with medCPU, a software development company based in New York City, to launch the center, according to a news release.

Nearly 100 health systems are members of the Academy and account for 67 percent of inpatient days, approximately 50 percent of ambulatory care visits and 65 percent of net patient revenue and collectively employ 2 million people, according to the news release.

“The Solutions Center is the next step in the evolution of Academy services based on peer-to-peer executive learning, collaborative problem solving, and now research into the implementation of tools and processes to accelerate transformation at the point-of-care,” said Sherrie Jones, president and co-founder of The Academy, in the news release.
