GE seeking to sell healthcare capital lending unit

General Electric has initiated the sale of GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services, looking for buyers to acquire the company’s healthcare capital lending unit, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

The lending unit is valued between $10 billion and $11 billion, according to the report, citing people familiar with the matter.

GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services helps healthcare companies specializing in senior housing, hospitals, pharmaceuticals and medical devices finance acquisitions, refinancings, working capital and other projects, according to the report, providing more than $10.5 billion for such projects in 2014.
