UF Health in Gainesville, Fla., has gone live with a modernization of its Epic EHR system, a move executives say will help standardize workflows, reduce variation and improve care delivery across the system.
Stephen Motew, MD, president and CEO of UF Health, announced the milestone in an April 7 LinkedIn post, calling the launch the result of months of collaboration across clinical, IT and operational teams.
“This launch includes service area alignment and several other Epic initiatives designed to better support patient care across UF Health,” Dr. Motew wrote in the post. “Together, these enhancements will help reduce variation, standardize workflows and strengthen operations across our system.”
The update reflects a broader trend among health systems investing in EHR optimization, with a focus on improving efficiency and consistency across multisite organizations.
Dr. Motew said the effort involved coordinated planning across departments and thanked staff who contributed to the go-live.
“This milestone reflects months of collaboration, planning and dedication from teams across IT, clinical and operational areas,” he wrote.
UF Health expects the changes to support more consistent care delivery as the system continues to expand and integrate services. Dr. Motew added that leadership is focused on the long-term impact of the initiative.
“Proud of what this represents and looking forward to the impact as we continue to evolve how we deliver care to our communities,” he wrote.
