New York City-based Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center has launched real-time data integration between its EHR and clinical trial platforms.

The new system automates the transfer of structured clinical data from Epic into sponsor electronic data capture systems, cutting the need for manual reentry during cancer trials, according to an Oct. 30 news release.

Mount Sinai said early pilots reduced manual transcription time by up to 70%. The integration is designed to improve accuracy, reduce staff burden and accelerate oversight and decision-making during studies.

The new capability is now active across Mount Sinai’s oncology department and will be expanded to other specialties, according to the release.
