Cerner expects to open the health center for Plumbers Local Union 130 United Association in 2019. The EHR vendor said it plans to set up the facility on the Southwest Side of Chicago, although it has not finalized the location.
Cerner operates health centers across the U.S., including facilities for its own workforce and for other union organizations. The health center will be equipped with Cerner’s technology platforms, such as its population health management system, HealtheIntent.
Cerner said its priorities for the health center are to minimize wait times, encourage healthy behaviors and provide access to preventive care, chronic condition management and health risk awareness.
“Our members’ health and well-being are our top priority, and we are committed to equipping them with the care they need to live healthy lives,” said James Coyne, business manager of Plumbers Local Union 130 UA. “Providing our members and their families with quality care will give them greater control of their health, while they continue to provide top plumbing craftsmanship to the Chicago area.”
