Cerner posts 8% rise in revenue for Q1: 5 things to know

Five things to know about the EHR vendor’s financial performance:

1. Cerner posted $1.39 billion in revenue for the first quarter, up 8 percent from $1.29 billion from the same period last year.

2. The EHR vendor reported $166.21 million in net earnings, up 3.75 percent from $160 million during the first quarter of 2018.

3. Professional services contributed to most of Cerner’s first-quarter revenue at $490.43 million, up 11.1 percent from $441.26 million from the first quarter of 2018. Additional major revenue drivers included managed services ($304.39 million), support and maintenance ($276.96 million) and licensed software ($154.47 million).

4. Cerner anticipates its second quarter of 2019 revenue to be between $1.41 billion and $1.46 billion.

5. The company expects its full-year 2019 revenue to be between $5.65 billion and $5.85 billion.
