A Department of Homeland Security official on Tuesday told Reuters fewer than 10 U.S. organizations reported being infected by the worldwide attack.
A DHS official on Monday told NPR the affected organizations range in scope from companies with only a few affected computers to those with networks of infected computers.
“The U.S. is still in a relatively good place — I don’t want to jinx it,” the official told NPR. “We don’t have a large number of victims right now, and we, for the most part, are not seeing significant operational impacts for those who have been victimized. They’ve been able to manage through it.”
