Andover, Mass.-based Covenant Health is investigating a systemwide issue that has disrupted phone and internet connectivity across several of its facilities, including hospitals in Maine and New Hampshire.

Here are five things to know:

  1. A Covenant Health spokesperson told GovInfo Security that the organization became aware of “irregularities impacting connectivity across the organization” on May 26. “Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately discontinued access to all data systems in our hospitals, clinics and provider practices,” the spokesperson told the publication.

  2. The issue has affected at least two hospitals in Maine, one hospital in New Hampshire — St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua — and multiple associated provider practices.

  3. St. Joseph Hospital reports that the disruption has caused intermittent unavailability of some services, including phone and internet access, according to a notice on its website.

  4. Outpatient lab services at St. Joseph have also been modified. “For the time being, labs will only be available at our main hospital campus, and services can be provided only with a physical order in hand,” the hospital stated.

  5. The hospital said its team is actively working to resolve the issue and restore full services as quickly as possible.
