The nine partners signed the Charter of Trust at the Munich Security Conference. The Charter of Trust, initiated by Siemens, calls for governments and businesses to pursue 10 actions to “build trust” in cybersecurity, according to a joint statement released by the organizations Feb. 16.
The Charter of Trust urges governments to establish dedicated cybersecurity ministries and businesses to establish dedicated chief information security officers, and encourages companies to seek independent third-party security certification for critical infrastructure and solutions, among other cybersecurity initiatives.
In addition to Siemens and the Munich Security Conference, Airbus, Allianz, Daimler Group, IBM, NXP, SGS and Deutsche Telekom signed the charter.
“Confidence that the security of data and networked systems is guaranteed is a key element of the digital transformation,” said Siemens President and CEO Joe Kaeser. “That’s why we have to make the digital world more secure and more trustworthy.”
