Oracle has fixed a security vulnerability in its software that hospitals rushed to patch in recent weeks.

The American Hospital Association and FBI urged hospitals and health systems in early October to “immediately” patch a security gap in the Oracle E-Business Suite enterprise resource planning system that hackers were likely already exploiting. The flaw allowed remote access to the program without a username or password.

The software giant initially offered a security patch Oct. 4 before releasing the latest fix Oct. 11.
