Kettering (Ohio) Health is facing a lawsuit after a cybersecurity incident in May disrupted systems across the organization, WDTN reported June 16.

Here are five things to know:

  1. The lawsuit, filed in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, accuses Kettering Health of negligence, stating that the system has not provided adequate support to patients during its recovery from the May 20 cyberattack.

  2. Attorneys claim patients in need of chemotherapy, prescriptions and physical therapy have struggled to access those treatments and appointments following the attack.

  3. Kettering Health said it believes the cyberattack was carried out by the cybercriminal group Interlock.

  4. “We do not comment on pending litigation,” Kettering Health said in an emailed statement to Becker’s.
