Kettering (Ohio) Health has resumed normal operations across all of its emergency departments, lifting a temporary diversion that had limited access to emergency care.

The change, according to a May 28 update posted on the health system’s website, means Kettering Health is once again accepting both walk-in patients and those brought in by emergency medical services.

Here are four things to know:

  1. Kettering Health had been diverting patients to other area hospitals while it addressed a ransomware attack that hit its organization May 20.

  2. Hospitals across the Dayton, Ohio, region stepped in to support Kettering Health after the cybersecurity incident disrupted the health system’s electronic systems.

  3. The incident forced the health system to cancel elective inpatient and outpatient procedures. Its call center also went dark.

  4. Kettering Health brought its radiology equipment back online May 25.
